Greer Garson

Greer Garson
Eileen Evelyn Greer Garson 29 de septiembre de 1904 - 6 de abril de 1996) fue una actriz norteamericana. Se hizo famosa al co-protagonizar numerosas películas junto al actor Walter Pidgeon. Estuvo nominada seis veces al premio Oscar a la mejor actriz, galardón que consiguió en una ocasión. Nació en el condado de Down en Irlanda del Norte aunque se educó en Londres. Se graduó en francés y literatura del siglo XVIII. En un principio pensó en ser profesora pero terminó trabajando en diversas producciones locales de teatro. Fue descubierta por el director Louis B.Mayer que se encontraba en Londres buscando jóvenes talentos. Garson firmó un contrato con MGM y protagonizó su primera película americana Adiós Mister Chips (Goodbye Mr. Chips) (1939) por la que recibió una nominación a los Oscar.
